Contractor Bear Packages Compared: Starter vs. Growth vs. Dominate

Choosing a marketing partner is one of the most important decisions a contractor can make. Get it right, and your phone rings with qualified leads every day. Get it wrong, and you waste thousands of dollars on empty promises. We’ve designed three packages at Contractor Bear to match where you are in your business — whether you’re just getting started with digital marketing, ready to accelerate, or determined to become the dominant contractor in your market.

This guide breaks down exactly what’s in each package, who it’s designed for, what results to expect, and how the economics work — including our revenue share model, which is the thing that makes us fundamentally different from every other agency.

The Three Packages at a Glance

Now let’s unpack each one.

Starter Package: $2,000/month + 10% Revenue Share

Who It’s For

The Starter package is built for contractors who are:

  • Doing $200K - $600K in annual revenue and ready to grow but not yet spending significantly on marketing.
  • New to digital marketing — maybe you’ve relied on word-of-mouth, yard signs, and truck wraps until now, but you know you need an online presence.
  • Solo operators or small crews (1-5 employees) who need a steady flow of leads but can’t justify $5K/month in marketing spend yet.
  • Budget-conscious — you want to invest in growth, but you need to see results before committing more.

What’s Included

Custom Website (50-100 pages) We build you a professional, conversion-optimized website from scratch. This isn’t a template with your logo slapped on it — it’s a custom-designed site built on modern technology (Astro framework) with fast load times, mobile-first design, and proper SEO structure. The 50-100 pages include your homepage, service pages, about page, contact page, and 30-80 city/service landing pages for local SEO.

Local SEO Foundation We optimize your website for local search, including proper title tags, meta descriptions, schema markup (LocalBusiness, Service), and internal linking. We create and submit your sitemap to Google Search Console, fix any technical SEO issues, and ensure your site is indexable and crawlable.

Google Business Profile Setup & Optimization If you don’t have a Google Business Profile, we create one. If you do, we optimize it — proper categories, complete business information, service area configuration, photos, and initial posts. Your GBP is often the first thing potential customers see, and a fully optimized profile dramatically improves your visibility in the local map pack.

Basic Content Marketing We set up your blog with 2-3 foundational posts and provide a content strategy you can execute yourself or hire a writer to produce. We don’t write ongoing content at this tier, but we give you the roadmap: what topics to write about, what keywords to target, and how to structure posts for SEO.

Monthly Reporting Once a month, you receive a report showing your website traffic, keyword rankings, Google Business Profile performance, and lead count. We walk you through the numbers on a 30-minute call so you understand what’s working and what’s next.

What It Doesn’t Include

  • Paid advertising management (Google Ads, Facebook Ads)
  • Ongoing content writing (beyond initial setup)
  • Active review management (we advise, but you execute)
  • Social media management
  • Call tracking (available as add-on, $100/month)

Expected Results

Realistic expectations for the Starter package over the first 12 months:

  • Months 1-3: Website launched, Google Business Profile optimized, initial SEO work completed. You may see a few organic leads trickle in, but SEO takes time. Most leads will come from your GBP.
  • Months 4-6: Local SEO starts gaining traction. You should see 10-25 organic leads per month from a combination of website traffic and GBP calls.
  • Months 7-12: As your domain authority grows and more pages get indexed, lead volume increases to 20-50 per month. At an average ticket of $500-1,500 and a 25% close rate, that’s $2,500-$18,750 in new monthly revenue from marketing alone.

The Math

Let’s run the numbers for a plumbing company on the Starter plan:

  • Monthly investment: $2,000
  • Average leads per month (months 7-12): 30
  • Close rate: 30%
  • Customers per month: 9
  • Average ticket: $800
  • Monthly revenue from marketing: $7,200
  • Revenue share (10%): $720
  • Total monthly cost: $2,720
  • ROI: 2.6x

And that’s a conservative scenario. As SEO compounds over time, lead volume grows while your monthly fee stays flat. By month 18-24, many Starter clients are seeing 5-8x ROI.

Growth Package: $3,500/month + 5% Revenue Share

Who It’s For

The Growth package is built for contractors who are:

  • Doing $500K - $1.5M in annual revenue and actively investing in growth.
  • Already have some online presence — maybe a basic website and a Google Business Profile — but aren’t getting the lead volume they need.
  • Running a crew of 5-15 employees and need consistent lead flow to keep everyone busy.
  • Ready for paid advertising — you’ve seen competitors running Google Ads and you want in, but you don’t want to manage it yourself.
  • Serious about reputation — you know reviews matter but don’t have a system for generating them consistently.

What’s Included

Everything in Starter, plus:

Expanded Website (100-250 pages) More pages means more opportunities to rank for local searches. We build out city-specific and service-specific landing pages targeting every combination relevant to your business. A plumber in Dallas, for example, might have pages for “drain cleaning in Plano,” “water heater repair in Frisco,” “sewer line replacement in Arlington,” and dozens more.

Monthly Content Marketing We write and publish 4 blog posts per month, each targeting a specific keyword your potential customers are searching for. These posts are 1,000-2,000 words of genuinely useful content — not thin, AI-generated filler. Topics range from “How much does a water heater replacement cost in [city]?” to “5 signs you need to replace your sewer line.” Over 12 months, that’s 48 blog posts building your organic traffic and authority.

Google Ads Management We set up, manage, and optimize your Google Ads campaigns. This includes keyword research, ad copywriting, bid management, negative keyword maintenance, and conversion tracking. We focus on high-intent keywords — “plumber near me,” “emergency AC repair,” “roof replacement estimate” — that generate phone calls from ready-to-hire customers. Our ad management fee is included in your monthly rate; you pay for ad spend separately (we recommend starting at $1,000-$2,000/month in ad spend).

Review Management System We implement a review generation system that automatically sends review requests to your customers after each completed job. This includes SMS and email follow-up sequences, direct links to your Google and Yelp profiles, and a dashboard to monitor your review growth. Companies on this plan typically add 10-30 new Google reviews per month.

Google Business Profile Active Management Beyond initial optimization, we actively manage your GBP with weekly posts, Q&A management, photo updates, and response to reviews (both positive and negative). Active GBP management can increase your visibility in the local map pack by 20-40%.

Bi-Weekly Reporting Twice a month, you receive performance reports and a strategy call. We review ad performance, SEO progress, review growth, and lead quality. This cadence lets us make faster adjustments and keep you informed without overwhelming you.

Expected Results

  • Months 1-3: Website expanded, Google Ads launched, review system activated. Google Ads should generate 20-40 leads per month from day one. SEO leads are still building.
  • Months 4-6: Organic leads start compounding (20-40/month) on top of paid leads (30-50/month). Total lead volume: 50-90 per month.
  • Months 7-12: SEO is in full swing with 100-250 indexed pages driving traffic. Review count is up 100-200+. Total lead volume: 80-150 per month.

The Math

Let’s run the numbers for an HVAC company on the Growth plan:

  • Monthly investment: $3,500 (package) + $1,500 (ad spend) = $5,000
  • Average leads per month (months 7-12): 100
  • Close rate: 25%
  • Customers per month: 25
  • Average ticket: $1,200
  • Monthly revenue from marketing: $30,000
  • Revenue share (5%): $1,500
  • Total monthly cost: $6,500
  • ROI: 4.6x

The Growth plan is where most contractors hit their stride. The combination of SEO (long-term, compounding) and paid ads (immediate, scalable) creates a balanced lead generation engine that produces consistent results.

Dominate Package: $5,000/month + 3% Revenue Share

Who It’s For

The Dominate package is built for contractors who are:

  • Doing $1M+ in annual revenue and committed to aggressive growth.
  • Running multiple crews or locations and need a marketing machine that scales with them.
  • Ready to own their market — you want to be the first result on Google, the company with the most reviews, and the brand that everyone in your service area recognizes.
  • Competing in a crowded market where multiple well-funded competitors are already investing in marketing.
  • Willing to invest in marketing as a growth driver, not just an expense.

What’s Included

Everything in Growth, plus:

Massive Website (250-500+ pages) We build out a comprehensive pSEO (programmatic SEO) website that covers every service, in every city, for every relevant search intent. A roofing company in the Denver metro, for example, might have 400+ pages covering roof repair, replacement, inspection, and maintenance across Denver, Aurora, Lakewood, Littleton, Arvada, Westminster, Thornton, and 30+ surrounding cities. This level of coverage creates a massive organic footprint that’s nearly impossible for competitors to replicate.

Weekly Content Production We produce 6-8 pieces of content per month: blog posts, service area pages, FAQ content, and seasonal guides. Every piece is researched, optimized, and designed to rank for specific keywords. Over 12 months, that’s 70-100 new content pieces compounding your organic traffic.

Google + Facebook Ads Management In addition to Google Ads, we manage Facebook and Instagram advertising campaigns. These platforms are particularly effective for:

  • Retargeting website visitors who didn’t convert
  • Promoting seasonal offers (AC tune-up specials, winter furnace checks)
  • Building brand awareness in your service area
  • Generating leads for higher-ticket services (full system replacements, remodels)

Facebook/Instagram ad spend is separate from your monthly fee (we recommend $500-$1,500/month to start).

Full Review Generation System Beyond automated review requests, we implement a comprehensive reputation management strategy. This includes review response (we respond to every review on your behalf), review dispute management, review widget integration on your website, and monthly reputation reports. Dominate clients typically accumulate 200-400+ new reviews in their first year.

Weekly Reporting + Live Dashboard You get a real-time dashboard showing leads, calls, form submissions, ad performance, keyword rankings, and review metrics. Plus, weekly reports and strategy calls with your dedicated strategist. No surprises, no black boxes — you see exactly what your marketing investment is producing.

Dedicated Strategist Unlike Starter and Growth (where a strategist manages multiple accounts), Dominate clients get a dedicated marketing strategist who knows your business intimately. They attend your team meetings (virtually), understand your capacity constraints, and adjust campaigns in real-time based on your actual business needs.

Expected Results

  • Months 1-3: Full infrastructure deployed. Google + Facebook Ads generating 50-80 leads per month. SEO foundation being built with aggressive content production.
  • Months 4-6: Organic traffic ramps up significantly. Total lead volume: 100-200 per month across all channels. Review count climbing rapidly.
  • Months 7-12: Full market presence established. Total lead volume: 150-300+ per month. You’re ranking on page one for most service + city keywords. Your Google Business Profile has 300+ reviews. Competitors are asking their agencies, “How do we compete with [your company]?”

The Math

Let’s run the numbers for a roofing company on the Dominate plan:

  • Monthly investment: $5,000 (package) + $3,000 (ad spend) = $8,000
  • Average leads per month (months 7-12): 200
  • Close rate: 20%
  • Customers per month: 40
  • Average ticket: $4,500 (roofing is higher-ticket)
  • Monthly revenue from marketing: $180,000
  • Revenue share (3%): $5,400
  • Total monthly cost: $13,400
  • ROI: 13.4x

At these numbers, marketing isn’t an expense — it’s your most profitable employee.

Revenue Share: How It Works and Why We Do It

Revenue share is the feature that raises the most questions, so let’s address it head-on.

How It Works

When you sign up with Contractor Bear, we get read-only access to your invoicing software (Jobber, ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, or similar). Each month, we calculate the total revenue generated from leads attributed to our marketing efforts. Your revenue share percentage (10%, 5%, or 3% depending on your plan) is applied to that attributed revenue.

Attribution is transparent. We use call tracking, form submission tracking, and UTM parameters to identify which leads came from our marketing. If a customer calls from a Google Ads click, fills out a form on your website, or contacts you through your Google Business Profile, that’s an attributed lead. Walk-ins, referrals, and repeat customers from before our engagement are not attributed to us.

Monthly reconciliation. Each month, we provide a detailed attribution report showing every attributed lead, the resulting revenue, and the calculated revenue share. You review and approve before any revenue share is invoiced. If you dispute an attribution, we discuss it and err on your side.

Why We Do It

Most marketing agencies charge a flat fee regardless of performance. If your ads generate zero leads in a month, they still get paid the same amount. That creates a misalignment: the agency profits whether you do or not.

Revenue share changes the equation. When we earn a percentage of the revenue we help generate, our incentives are perfectly aligned with yours. If we don’t generate results, we earn less. If we crush it, we earn more. This is what “skin in the game” actually means — not just a tagline, but a financial structure that rewards performance.

Why Lower Revenue Share at Higher Tiers

You’ll notice the revenue share decreases as the package tier increases: 10% for Starter, 5% for Growth, 3% for Dominate. This is intentional.

Higher-tier clients generate more revenue, so a lower percentage still produces meaningful revenue share for us. A 3% share on $180K/month in attributed revenue ($5,400) is actually more than a 10% share on $7,200/month ($720).

Higher-tier clients invest more upfront, which funds more aggressive marketing activities. The higher monthly fee compensates for the lower percentage.

It incentivizes upgrades. As your business grows with Contractor Bear, upgrading to a higher tier reduces your revenue share percentage while giving you more marketing firepower. It’s a win-win structure designed for long-term partnerships.

Which Package Should You Choose?

Here’s a decision framework:

Choose Starter If:

  • You’re spending less than $1,000/month on marketing currently
  • You have fewer than 5 employees
  • Your annual revenue is under $600K
  • You need a professional website and local SEO foundation
  • You’re not ready for paid advertising yet
  • You want to test the waters with a lower commitment

Choose Growth If:

  • You’re already spending $1,000-3,000/month on marketing but not seeing results
  • You have 5-15 employees
  • Your annual revenue is $500K-$1.5M
  • You need both organic and paid lead generation
  • Reviews are a weakness and you need a system to fix it
  • You want active management, not just setup

Choose Dominate If:

  • You’re ready to invest $8,000+/month (package + ad spend) in growth
  • You have 15+ employees or multiple crews/locations
  • Your annual revenue is $1M+ and you’re aiming for $3M+
  • You want to be the #1 contractor in your market, period
  • You’re in a competitive metro where half-measures won’t cut it
  • You want a dedicated strategist who knows your business inside and out

Still Not Sure?

The honest answer: most contractors who are new to Contractor Bear start with the Growth package. It offers the best balance of services, results, and investment. If you’re genuinely early-stage or budget-constrained, Starter gives you a solid foundation to build on. If you’re already a seven-figure operation and you’re ready to dominate, that’s what the Dominate package was built for.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I switch packages? Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time with 30 days’ notice. Most clients upgrade after seeing results — Starter to Growth is the most common transition, typically around month 6-9.

Is there a long-term contract? No. We work on a month-to-month basis after an initial 3-month onboarding period. The 3-month minimum exists because SEO and content marketing take time to produce results — we don’t want you judging performance before our work has had a chance to compound. After the first 3 months, you can cancel with 30 days’ notice.

What about the website if I cancel? You keep it. The website we build for you is yours. We transfer all files, hosting credentials, and domain access. We believe in earning your business every month, not holding your website hostage.

Do I pay for ad spend separately? Yes. Your monthly package fee covers strategy, management, and execution. Google and Facebook ad spend is billed directly to your credit card by the ad platforms. We recommend and manage the budget, but you control the spend.

How do I know the revenue share calculations are accurate? Full transparency. You receive a detailed attribution report each month showing every tracked lead, the resulting job, the invoiced amount, and the calculated share. You approve before payment.

What if I’m already working with another agency? We handle the transition. We’ll audit your current setup, migrate what’s working, and improve what isn’t. We’ve transitioned hundreds of contractors from other agencies and the process is smooth.

What industries do you serve? We exclusively serve home service contractors: plumbers, HVAC technicians, electricians, roofers, landscapers, painters, pest control, and related trades. This specialization is a core part of our value — we know your industry because it’s the only industry we serve.
